During his distinguished career, Herb has covered the consumer beat for NBC News Digital, NBC’s TODAY Show, CBS News, KIRO TV and KOMO News in Seattle, and Woman’s Day magazine.

For 16 years, his highly acclaimed TOY TEST (the biggest in America) on CBS This Morning and then TODAY, helped parents and grandparents find good, safe, durable, and fun toys.

Herb’s dedication to protecting consumers has been honored by the Consumer Federation of America, the National Consumers League, United Press International, and the Society of Professional Journalists.

In 2015, Herb was inducted into the Silver Circle of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for contributions to the industry and years of community service.

Herb works with various animal rescue and adoption organizations in the Seattle area, and has helped raise millions of dollars to help our furry friends.

Herb graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University.

Herb and his wife Debra live in the Seattle area, where they share their home with their adorable pooch, Sam.
